Astronomy News: NASA - Water Vapor Seen “Raining Down” on Young Star System

9 September 2007 No Comment

nasa1.jpgNasa reported a couple a days ago their scientists have found an interesting phenomenon in which water vapor “rain down” during the “birth” of a star. The water pouring from outside towards the center vaporizes and forms a could around the newborn stars. The amount of water is huge, five times the amount of water in the oceans of our planet.
It is not known is this is a unique phenomenon but this is the first time we can see how water moves to the area where stars are born. This phenomenon was found by Spitzer telescope.
