Friday night at 9:39 pm a bolide (fireball) was seen on Finnish nigthsky. A bolide is a fireball 100 times brighter than full moon. This was the brightest meteor seen in Finland for 30 years. Astronomers claim that it was a natural object, not space debris, because the angle the object flew was steep. The phenomenon lasted only for 2-5 seconds, and space debris usually can be seen for dozens of seconds.
Astronomers believe that this meteor had weight of 200 kg. The phenomenon was seen by more than 500 people which is a record in Finland.
