HomeboyAstronomy.Com and Year 2007 - A Short Summary
Few hours more and year 2007 is history. A new year is beginning and new challenges are awaiting. Year 2007 was an interesting year because of many reasons. I returned back home from Switzerland after working there two years and I started a new interesting job in Finland. I met a couple of new amateur astronomers, such as Harri at my work, and I have learnt many fascinating things about astronomy in this year. One important reason for year 2007 being interesting is that I launched homeboyastronomy.com in September. Since then I have been writing articles almost daily. My articles have covered topics I am personally interested in, such as locating stars and constellations, as well as teaching astronomy to children.
I have seen a great growth in traffic in my blog which is certainly nice. Most if the traffic comes from search engines, so I seem to cover topics people are interested in. The most popular articles in my blog have been:
1. Astronomy Observation Tips - What Constellations Can Be Seen In Different Times
2. Astronomy Tips&Tricks - How To Find Orion Nebula (M42)
3. Tips & Tricks for Finding Andromeda (M31) Galaxy without a Star Chart or a Planisphere
What will happen in 2008? I will continue writing articles like before, trying to cover those areas people are interested in. I will perfrom a complete facelift in my site. This means that the blog theme is going to change towards more usable and better from design point of view. You will see this happening in early January. Additionally I will focus in writing one article a day so that for those who are interested reading my blog I provide at least one article a day.
I am going to be looking for guest bloggers next year, so if you are interested in publishing your articles in my blog, stay tuned. I will launch a small campaign to find those who are interested in guest writing. All this and few other things are going to happen on next year. Keep on reading homeboyastronomy.com, it will develop fast. My humble goal is to develop homeboyastronomy.com as number one astronomy blog in blogosphere. Am I going to reach my goal? Let’s see!
Thank You for the year 2007. I wish you all the best for next year and the future.

I can’t wait to read new things in your blog!
Good luck and happy new year!
Nice to hear, Erica. Thanks! I’ll be back in the beginning of 2008 and I will put more efforts in writing on next year. Stay tuned!
This is a terrific concept in blogs. Assistance in contemplating the wonder and beauty of the universe, assisted by someone I can ask the occasional question of, is historic! My only regret is that you will be too popular. I found you through Entrecard.com, and if I can do it, anyone can. I hope you are not so overloaded with traffic that you forget questions from the little guys like me, with a couple of math degrees and no real training in astronomy. My sincere best wishes in your undertaking, especially with regards to introducing novices and children to the wonders of the universe. More about the dice later. Sincerely, Rob
Rob, thank you for your kind words. It is very nice to hear such positive feedback. It really motivates me to write this blog. Astronomy is a fascinating hobby and I really enjoy writing this blog. I believe this blog will stay as small as it is, although it would be great to see more people reading my articles
Have a great day, Rob!
