Shawn, I agree with you 100%. I feel the same when looking at that picture. It is so difficult to understand the massive size of the universe, but that picture helps a little. When one understands the size of the Milky Way and the distance to Andromeda, and then looks this picture, he/she really becomes amazed with the size of the universe. I love that picture!

these pictures are a scam. doesn’t anyone see how most of these images look fake. can anyone tell me how the hubble can see all these far off stars and galaxies, but there is no clear image of pluto in our own galaxy. that just amazes me!

All the pictures are my favorite, but given the importance of our understanding about space and space objects, the pictures of ultra deep space and the comet bombarding jupiter stands out for me.

It makes me wonder how tiny yet how magnificent Earth stands out of all.

Thanks for showing this. Very Beautiful yet so vast… It makes you wonder how beautiful and powerful is its creator. Most of the time when I got a problem which I think is very big for me to handle and Im thinking that there is no way out, I try to look at the stars at night and think how small is our world compared to the other heavenly bodies up there and the vastness of the universe, and Im having this thougth that the earth is just like a grain of sand in the seashore. Then I ask myself, how small I am to the world, And if I were too small how big my problems can be? And that keeps me going… It makes life simple and easy..

Thanks again for reminding me that there is a very powerful and loving entity out there, who created this panorama for the sole purpose ( No other puspose )of keeping me reminded that he was bigger, more powerful, colorful and brighter than anything else we can possibly see.. As in anything else.. Thanks to Mr. hubble.. This is another way of saying that science does’nt conflict with faith but it strengthen it.

To Noone, your question about how Hubble can take a picture of many billions of light years away but can’t take a clear picture of earth or other planets in our solar systems has an answer. It comes down to focus. Hubble is designed to focus at a very far off distance so anything it looks at close by like an object in our solar system is just to close for it’s ability to clearly focus. Try taking a pair of binoculars that shows a great clear image at a distance of several hundred feet and try to look at something in the same room at a distance of 10-15 feet. It will look out of focus because most binoculars are not designed to focus close up. Hubble is the same.
