SpaceFlightNow.Com writes that astronauts in the orbit have enjoyed some off-duty time, which was really needed. “We’re having a great time, taking a break, just relaxing a little bit”, says Peggy Whitson when interviewed by CBS News. “I think we really needed it. For the station guys and for the shuttle guys, we had to do a pretty big sleep shift to get to this time, to (get in synch) with the launch and the landing and everything. So it was nice to be able to get eight hours of sleep.”, continues Whitson.

The Endeavour space shuttle brought flight engineer Garrett Reisman to theInternational Space Station where he will stay when the shuttle undocks next Monday night. His place in the returning shuttle will be taken by Leopold Eyharts who will return back to Earth after a month and a half in the orbit. When asked, Reisman compares the ISS to the famous space station movie scene of recently died Arthur C. Clarke. “Coming in from the shuttle, which is relatively small volume, it was pretty overwhelming. It’s amazing how big station is, it’s about the same size from stem to stern as a Boeing 767 and it’s been astonishing to me how long it takes just to get from one end to the other. It’s so big, you actually have to plan how you carry your stuff around because if you have to go back and get something, it takes time. And that’s really marvelous., says Reisman in SpaceFlightNow.Com website.

Mr. Eyharts is looking forward to return back to Earth. After seven weeks in the orbit he is really missing his family. “It has been a relatively short flight for a (station crew member), but very busy, with two shuttle flights and a lot of work with Columbus. So I’m looking forward also to having a little bit of rest and kind of a normal life back on Earth.“, says Eyharts.

The news story in SpaceFlightNow.Com continues by describing how astronomers feel about walking in space. Mr. Linnehan, the space walk veteran, describes nicely how walking in space feels like scuba diving. Read th rest of the story in SpaceFlightNow.Com.
